I ultimately decided to attend George Washington University! I must be crazy, it was the only school that didn’t give me money… Everyone keep their fingers crossed that they do give me something on my appeal!
Hey everyone! Right now, I’m raising money for a Relay for Life walk at my school. It’s going to happen in just over 2 weeks, and I’m pretty pumped! Right now, I’m looking for donations. If anyone has a few bucks to donate, I’d really appreciate it. If you don’t have anything to donate, please consider reblogging this too. Every little bit helps! If you have any questions, feel free to ask me.
So I tried to make a list of the pros and cons of my school to help me decide. Still confused as hell.
Wake Forest University
Highest ranked school I got in to.
Small, close knit campus.
Located in the middle of nowhere and a far way from home.
No internship opportunities during the year.
Not very diverse.
The George Washington University
Located literally in the heart of D.C.
A lot of internship opportunities.
Expensive as hell.
Stereotype of the students being stuck up.
Very big, might not be able to get the attention I need.
Cheapest out of the 3 (because of scholarships).
Small class size.
Grass in D.C.
Got into the Honors program.
Least name recognition.
No one has ever heard of it.
Interior of buildings remind me of a private high school.
Even seeing all three of these, I’m still at a loss for how to decide. After visiting all three again, I’m leaning towards GW, then Wake, and then American. The order switches around in my head pretty often, though. Anyone help?
I just got back from Washington D.C. and holy shit do I have a lot of thinking to do. I saw both American University and George Washington University, and I loved both of them for two entirely different reasons. I feel like I’d have better opportunities at George Washington (and it is literally 3 blocks away from the White House) and their dorms are pretty sweet, but at the same time I feel like there is such a close knit community at American. Basically everyone I saw at American was really excited to be there. This is going to involve a hell of a lot of thinking.
So I think my favorite part of the Easter today was the church I went to. It was church called Georgetown Lutheran Church. It was some little historic church called Georgetown Lutheran Church. My favorite part about it was that right on the front page of their bulletin it says that they welcome all people, regardless of their age, sex, ethnicity, blah blah blah, and sexual orientation. In church, right up front was gay couple. The two dudes were really happy, you could just tell. It makes me really happy that there are churches out there who really mean it when they say that God loves and cares about everyone. Too bad there aren’t more churches like this one out there in the world.
